Lesson 01 of 13God’s called-out people, Christ’s body, and the Spirit’s dwelling
This lesson matters because the church is not primarily a building or event but the people God calls through the gospel, joins to Christ, fills with His Spirit, and sends as His holy body and witness. My prayer is that you receive this truth as grace, respond in obedience, and allow it to deepen both your relationship with God and your participation in His purpose. — Pastor Travis Morgan

Read the Word
reveals Jesus building His church around the confession of Christ.
shows people added through gospel response into shared life.
describes believers as one interdependent body.
portrays the church as God’s household and Spirit-filled temple.
names believers a priestly people who declare God’s praise.
Ekklesia describes an assembly called together. Buildings serve the church, but the church exists wherever Christ gathers His covenant people under His lordship.
This protects us from treating Sunday attendance as the whole Christian life. Belonging means shared worship, truth, care, responsibility, witness, and mission.
The body image gives every member dignity and responsibility. No person contains the whole ministry, and no member is spiritually self-sufficient.
As a household, the church learns family loyalty, correction, hospitality, generosity, and patient love across differences.
The Spirit dwells among God’s people, making the community holy. Our relationships and worship should honor the presence we host together.
The church exists for God’s glory and the world’s good, declaring His excellencies and embodying reconciliation.
Grace Revealed
God does not save isolated consumers; by grace He adds people to a spiritual family and gives every member a place.
Knowing Him
Christ makes Himself known among His gathered people through Word, Spirit, communion, prayer, love, correction, and service.
Why this matters for salvation
Salvation incorporates believers into Christ and His people. The church nourishes faith, holiness, perseverance, and mission.
