Acts 2:42

Teaching rooted in Jesus

The apostles did not invent an independent religion. Jesus commissioned them, opened Scripture, promised the Spirit’s remembrance, and sent them as witnesses.

Their doctrine centers on Jesus as Lord and Christ, His death and resurrection, the kingdom, gospel response, and obedient discipleship.

Foundation, not endless novelty

A foundation is laid once and built upon faithfully. The church must develop mature application without replacing the apostolic gospel.

Every prophecy, trend, teacher, and tradition is tested by Scripture and the confession of Jesus.

Continue and embody

Doctrine is continued through preaching, study, worship, ordinances, family discipleship, correction, and daily practice.

Truth must become a culture of grace, holiness, unity, mission, and love rather than a slogan used to win arguments.

Grace Revealed

Grace brings truth into life.

God graciously gave reliable witnesses and preserved their testimony so later generations can know Christ truthfully.

Knowing Him

Every truth leads toward God.

Apostolic doctrine leads to fellowship with the Father and Son because it faithfully announces the One who was seen, heard, crucified, and raised.

Why this matters for salvation

God’s teaching serves His saving purpose.

The saving gospel must be preserved from distortion. Continuing in truth guards both hearers and teachers.

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of apostolic doctrine. Receive, study, defend, and embody apostolic teaching with humility and love. Let Your grace form me, draw me nearer to You, and make my life useful in Your saving purpose. Amen.
