Authority under Christ

Jesus alone is the church’s ultimate Head. Leaders exercise entrusted authority under Scripture and will answer for how they care for people.

Authority exists to serve maturity, protect truth, coordinate mission, correct lovingly, and equip others—not create dependence on a personality.

Accountability without control

Believers invite trusted leaders and mature peers to know their lives, ask honest questions, pray, correct, and help discern.

Accountability never authorizes manipulation, secrecy, coercion, financial exploitation, or protection of abuse. Concerns must have safe paths for review.

Simple leadership in a small church

Destiny’s present scale allows direct pastoral relationship and simple ministry oversight. Clear expectations, accessible conversation, and a small number of responsible leaders are healthier than unnecessary layers.

As the church grows, structure should remain relational, transparent, and proportional to actual need.

Grace Revealed

Grace brings truth into life.

Christ gives shepherds as gifts, yet remains the Chief Shepherd who protects both people and leaders through truth and accountable community.

Knowing Him

Every truth leads toward God.

Healthy authority helps people hear and follow Jesus rather than replacing direct relationship with Him.

Why this matters for salvation

God’s teaching serves His saving purpose.

Sound oversight guards doctrine, restores wandering believers, protects the vulnerable, and equips the body to continue faithfully in salvation.

Pray the truth

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of spiritual authority & accountability. Receive godly care, practice honest accountability, test authority by Scripture, and reject both rebellion and domination. Let Your grace form me, draw me nearer to You, and make my life useful in Your saving purpose. Amen.
