Lesson 08 of 13Every member contributing through love
This lesson matters because christian service is the grateful offering of Spirit-enabled gifts, time, strength, and attention for God’s glory, the church’s edification, and the good of neighbors. My prayer is that you receive this truth as grace, respond in obedience, and allow it to deepen both your relationship with God and your participation in His purpose. — Pastor Travis Morgan

Christian service is the grateful offering of Spirit-enabled gifts, time, strength, and attention for God’s glory, the church’s edification, and the good of neighbors.
Read the Word
reveals Jesus as the servant who gives His life.
shows Jesus washing feet and commanding His example.
connects surrendered bodies, diverse gifts, and sincere love.
commands each believer to steward received gifts.
defines freedom as serving one another through love.
The King takes the towel and gives His life. Serving is not beneath mature believers; it is Christlike greatness.
We serve from secure identity, not to earn belonging, control outcomes, or gain recognition.
Gifts vary, and ordinary acts matter: welcoming, setup, prayer, children, music, administration, generosity, care, teaching, and outreach.
A small church needs flexibility. People may serve in more than one area, but leaders should guard against overload and build teams patiently.
Good service includes reliability, preparation, communication, humility, boundaries, rest, and teachability.
The goal is not filling slots at any cost. Placement should consider character, calling, competence, safety, and the present needs of Destiny.
Grace Revealed
We serve because Jesus first served and because the Spirit supplies strength and gifts. Grace prevents both pride and exhaustion-driven earning.
Knowing Him
Serving becomes fellowship with Jesus when we meet Him in humble obedience and love the people He loves.
Why this matters for salvation
Service expresses the new life of salvation, builds the church, cares for need, and makes the servant heart of the Savior visible.
