Distrust becomes disobedience
The serpent distorts God’s character and word. Humanity reaches for autonomy, treating the Creator as withholding rather than good.
Sin remains relational rebellion before it becomes a list of acts: we seek life independent of God.
Shame, blame, exile, and death
The fall fractures inner life, marriage, work, community, and creation. Hiding and blame replace openness and shared responsibility.
Judgment is real, yet God seeks the hiding pair, clothes them, and preserves a promise that evil will be defeated.
Adam and Christ
Paul shows sin and death entering through Adam and grace reigning through the obedience of Jesus. Christ does not merely advise fallen humanity; He inaugurates a new humanity.
The gospel answers guilt, corruption, bondage, alienation, death, and creation’s groaning.
Grace Revealed
Grace brings truth into life.
Even within judgment, God seeks, covers, promises, and begins the redemptive story. Grace confronts rather than ignores the disaster.
Knowing Him
Every truth leads toward God.
Sin drives hiding from God; salvation brings us back into His light and presence through Jesus.
Why this matters for salvation
God’s teaching serves His saving purpose.
The fall explains why salvation must include forgiveness, new birth, deliverance, reconciliation, holiness, resurrection, and restored creation.
