Hope takes several shapes
Messianic expectation grows through promises of a prophet like Moses, Davidic ruler, priestly king, Spirit-anointed servant, and Son of Man.
No single popular expectation contained the fullness. Jesus fulfills Scripture while correcting triumphalism.
The King suffers and rises
The cross is not the failure of Messiah. Jesus bears sin, defeats evil through self-giving obedience, and is vindicated by resurrection.
His throne is revealed through cruciform love before universal public victory.
Lord and Christ
Peter announces that the rejected Jesus has been raised and exalted. Messiah is not merely a national figure; He pours out the Spirit and commands worldwide allegiance.
Calling Jesus Christ means confessing the promised King and yielding to His rule.
Grace Revealed
Grace brings truth into life.
God fulfills promises in a surprising way: the King bears the suffering of His people and gives Himself for enemies.
Knowing Him
Every truth leads toward God.
Jesus gathers every promise into a personal invitation to know the King whose character is holy, humble, faithful, and victorious.
Why this matters for salvation
God’s teaching serves His saving purpose.
Saving faith depends on the true identity and work of Messiah—His atoning death, resurrection, exaltation, Spirit, and coming reign.
