Jesus is the hero
A testimony is not a celebration of how dark the past was or how strong we became. It magnifies the mercy, truth, cross, resurrection, name, and Spirit of Jesus.
Be honest without unnecessary detail that glorifies sin, violates privacy, or harms others.
A clear three-part story
Describe life and need before, how you encountered and responded to the gospel, and what Christ is doing now. Avoid implying that every problem disappeared.
Use language listeners understand and keep the story brief enough to invite conversation.
Testimony and Scripture
Personal experience cannot replace the gospel, but it can make the gospel tangible. Connect the story to what Jesus has done for all.
Practice in two-minute and ten-minute forms, then remain ready for questions.
Grace Revealed
Grace brings truth into life.
Testimony announces mercy received, not achievement earned. God transforms a wounded story into witness.
Knowing Him
Every truth leads toward God.
Remembering what Jesus has done renews gratitude and awareness of His continuing presence.
Why this matters for salvation
God’s teaching serves His saving purpose.
Testimony helps people hear the saving gospel through a credible life and strengthens believers to overcome shame and fear.

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of sharing your testimony. Write, practice, and share a Christ-centered testimony suited to the listener. Let Your grace form me, draw me nearer to You, and make my life useful in Your saving purpose. Amen.
