Praying with others is compassionate, Spirit-dependent ministry that listens, seeks consent, prays clearly in Jesus’ name, uses Scripture wisely, respects boundaries, and entrusts outcomes to God.

Listen before praying
Ask what the person wants prayer for and whether you may pray. Listening honors dignity and often reveals the real need.
Do not interrogate, diagnose, or promise confidentiality beyond safety responsibilities.
Pray simply and faithfully
Address God, pray in Jesus’ name, use fitting Scripture, ask specifically, allow quiet, and remain attentive to the Spirit. Volume and dramatic language do not produce power.
Never guarantee healing, blame a person for lacking faith, or create dependence on the prayer minister.
Follow up responsibly
After prayer, ask what the person experienced, encourage appropriate next steps, and connect serious needs with pastoral, medical, or professional care.
Celebrate God’s action humbly and avoid sharing another person’s story without permission.
Grace Revealed
Grace brings truth into life.
Access, compassion, gifts, and healing all originate in God. We minister as dependent recipients of grace.
Knowing Him
Every truth leads toward God.
Praying with someone brings both people consciously before Jesus and teaches dependence on His presence.
Why this matters for salvation
God’s teaching serves His saving purpose.
Prayer seeks healing, restoration, deliverance, perseverance, and openness to the saving work of Christ.

Lord Jesus, teach me the truth of praying with others. Ask permission, listen, pray simply, avoid promises God has not made, and follow up with care. Let Your grace form me, draw me nearer to You, and make my life useful in Your saving purpose. Amen.
