Lesson 09 of 10Daily dependence, fruit, guidance, power, and fellowship
Receiving the Spirit begins a relationship that must be lived. We are called to walk, be led, keep in step, pray, worship, witness, and bear fruit by the Spirit. This lesson moves us from remembering an experience to practicing daily dependence. — Pastor Travis Morgan

Walking with the Spirit means continually yielding thoughts, desires, choices, relationships, gifts, and mission to the indwelling Spirit so that Christ’s character and power become visible.
Read the Word
contrasts works of the flesh with Spirit-produced fruit.
describes Spirit-led identity, life, and adoption.
presents the Spirit as indwelling Helper and Teacher.
connects the Spirit with power for witness.
commands continuing fullness expressed in worship and relationships.
“Walk” describes an ongoing pattern, not an occasional event. The flesh names fallen desire organized independently of God; the Spirit produces a new direction. Daily choices either give room to old patterns or cooperate with the Spirit’s life.
Being led does not remove responsibility. We set the mind on the Spirit, put sinful practices to death, receive correction, and present ourselves to God.
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control reveal the Spirit’s forming work. Gifts may display power in a moment; fruit reveals character over time. The church needs both.
Fruit grows through abiding, testing, pruning, community, and repeated obedience. Do not use spiritual gifts to hide relational immaturity.
The Spirit teaches, reminds, convicts, distributes gifts, leads mission, and empowers witness. Guidance remains accountable to Scripture and wise community.
Practice morning surrender, immediate obedience to conviction, Scripture-shaped attention, prayer in the Spirit, and evening reflection. Ask not only, “What do I feel?” but “What fruit and faithfulness is this producing?”
Grace Revealed
The Spirit is not a distant standard but present help. Grace supplies both pardon for failure and power for a new way of life. We walk because God first came to dwell within us.
Knowing Him
The Spirit makes relationship with God inward and continual. He teaches us to cry to God, brings Jesus’ words to remembrance, and forms shared life with Christ.
Why this matters for salvation
Those who belong to Christ have His Spirit. Walking by the Spirit puts sin to death, produces holy fruit, strengthens perseverance, and empowers witness—central dimensions of lived salvation.
