Prayer is Spirit-enabled communion in which believers approach God through Jesus, worship, align with His will, ask, confess, listen, intercede, and persevere.

Relationship, not performance

Jesus warns against praying for public recognition and empty repetition. Prayer is directed toward the Father who sees in secret. Its value is not measured by vocabulary, volume, or length, but by truthfulness, faith, and alignment with God.

The Lord’s Prayer provides a pattern: honor God’s name, seek His kingdom and will, ask for provision, receive and extend forgiveness, and seek deliverance from temptation and evil.

Ask, seek, knock

Jesus invites persistent prayer because God is not irritated by His children. Persistence is not manipulation; it is continuing relationship, dependence, and agreement with God’s purposes while timing remains unresolved.

Prayer includes petition and intercession, but it also includes adoration, confession, thanksgiving, lament, listening, and surrender. A mature prayer life grows beyond emergencies.

Helped by the Spirit

Weakness does not disqualify us. The Spirit helps when we do not know how to pray, and Jesus our High Priest gives confident access to grace. We can bring confusion, grief, desire, and need without pretending.

Build gradually: begin with Scripture, use the pattern Jesus gave, keep a list, leave room for silence, and record what God is teaching. Consistency matters more than intensity that cannot be sustained.

Grace Revealed

Grace brings us near.

The throne we approach is called the throne of grace. Jesus gives access, the Father welcomes, and the Spirit helps weakness. Prayer is surrounded by divine initiative.

Knowing Him

Truth becomes shared life with God.

Prayer is shared life with God. Speak honestly, listen through His Word, allow silence, and let repeated communion teach your heart His character.

Why this matters for salvation

Saved people are brought into fellowship.

Those saved through Christ receive access to God, help in temptation, strength for perseverance, and participation in His mission through intercession. Prayer is the breath of a life reconciled to God.

Pray the truth

Father, hallowed be Your name. Let Your kingdom come and Your will be done in me. Provide what I need, forgive and transform me, teach me to forgive, and deliver me from evil. Spirit, help me pray. In Jesus’ name, amen.
