The big idea

Stewardship recognizes God as owner and ourselves as entrusted managers who worship Him through faithful work, wise planning, contentment, generosity, care for need, and accountable use of every resource.

God owns; we steward

Everything originates in God and remains accountable to Him. Stewardship replaces both entitlement and fear with entrusted responsibility. We ask how resources can honor His purposes.

Faithful stewardship includes honest work, planning, budgeting, debt wisdom, caring for household responsibilities, saving prudently, rejecting greed, and remaining available to generosity.

Giving is worship and grace

Scripture establishes the tithe as a formative first portion and presents offerings that respond freely to grace and mission. New Testament generosity is willing, proportionate, planned, cheerful, sacrificial, and transparent.

Giving does not purchase blessing or manipulate God. Prosperity teaching distorts grace when it turns generosity into a guaranteed transaction. We give because God first gave.

Treasure forms the heart

Jesus says the heart follows treasure. Giving loosens money’s mastery, provides for ministry and need, and joins us to God’s work. Contentment allows gratitude in both abundance and limitation.

Church leadership should handle funds with integrity, accountability, and clear purpose. Those facing hardship should not be shamed; generosity moves in both directions within the body.

Grace Revealed

Grace forms what it first receives.

Christ became poor for our sake, and every good gift comes from God. Grace creates generosity rather than coercion and supplies contentment rather than anxious ownership.

Knowing Him

We become like the One we behold.

Stewardship becomes fellowship when we receive daily provision with gratitude and place resources back into God’s hands. Trusting the Provider frees us to seek His kingdom.

Why this matters for salvation

Salvation transforms the whole person.

Jesus connects money with loyalty. Faithful stewardship guards against idolatry, supports gospel mission and mercy, forms perseverance, and expresses the transformed life of salvation.

Pray the truth

Generous Father, everything I have comes from You. Free me from greed and fear. Give me wisdom, contentment, integrity, and joy in giving. Let every resource serve Your kingdom, my responsibilities, and the needs of others. Amen.
